ABSTRACT

The hyperlucent lung syndrome, first described by Swyer and James, is considered a post-infectious complication related to bronchiolitis in infancy. The authors report a case of Swyer-James-MacLeod syndrome which was diagnosed in an adult male, and make a brief review of pertinent literature.

RESUMO

A síndrome do pulmão hiperluzente unilateral, descrita inicialmente por Swyer e James em 1953, é tida como complicação pós-infecciosa de bronquiolites ocorridas na infância. Relatamos um caso de síndrome de Swyer-James-MacLeod diagnosticada em um adulto jovem, com breve revisão da literatura pertinente.
